After going to a pow-wow this summer, Alex and Hattie always wanted to play Indians. On this sunny afternoon, Jerry made a tee-pee for the tribe, and Grammy found some old cloth, war paint and turkey feathers. The bows were tinker toys and rubber bands with mailing tubes for quivers. Lunch on the rez was dried jerkey, nuts and granola. They played in the yard for hours that afternoon thoroughly enjoying their time as Chief Runs-a-lot (Alex), Chief Hunts-a-buck (Hayden) and Princess fairy-girl (Hattie), who had to have pink war paint.
