Costa Rica 2007

We had a great time in Costa Rica this summer.  The Falkners and Emslies traveled around for a few days, before Laura and Ernie caught up with them at Arenal, an active volcano.  One evening, we got quite a display as molten lava poured down the mountain side.  Every one in the family, except the Hattie and Lauren, zip lined, and the boys went on several fishing charters.  We visited mud baths, monkey farms, butterfly enclosures, took a jungle ride through the rain forest, went horse back riding, and collected hundreds of shells on the beach.  The house we rented was great, although we did have to shoo out a few bats and crabs.  Apparently, it was mating season for the crabs, and our house was their flyway to the beach.  They all marched forward through our living room on the way to their destiny.  The bats didn't come back once Todd used up every paper towel in the house to stuff their entry holes.
